Well, if you think there is just one kind of snowmobile then you’re about to be blown away by the fact that there are more than Six Types of snowmobiles. Each equipped with a different set of parts and are of different sizes. Each one of them serves the same purpose of surfing in the snow, But each of them varies in terms of performance and task they are used for.

1. Entry-level Snowmobile
— These sort of Snowmobiling are also referred to as trail models. Entry-level snowmobile comes equipped with engines ranging from 60–70 horsepower and are easy to ride and relatively inexpensive. Performance snowmobile is often equipped with reverse gear and electric start and are much more responsive and performance oriented.

3. Touring Snowmobile
— Featured with a seat configuration, that is designed for up to two individuals, and also features a backrest for added comfort. Touring models usually include side-mounted mirrors, large windshields, reverse gear and electric start. These vehicles are larger and way heavier than both performance and entry-level snowmobiles are thoroughly designed for riding long distances in comfort. The track length of a touring vehicle is greater as well. The longer track length cushions your ride adds stability for two people and also provides more comfort and weight

4. Mountain Snowmobile
— Mountain Snowmobile is made specifically for mountain riding, they are longer and narrower. the vehicle configuration allows for ridding hillside in mountainous terrain and through heavy powder. The vehicles have specifically designed long lug tracks, allowing them to manoeuvre through heavy, deep powder conditions. Mountain snowmobile generally has high horsepower engines, since horsepower is lost at higher elevations. The characteristics of a mountain snowmobile generally lend it to better handling abilities in mountain riding over trail riding.

5. Utility Snowmobiling
— These sort of snowmobiling are common when any work or utilitarian needs are required. The vehicles are longer, wider and quite heavier than the other four snowmobiles. The functionality of the snowmobile is exceptionally well on trails and heavy snow, and come equipped with electric start and reverse. Utility Snowmobile is often used to tow work sledges or toboggans.

6. Crossover Snowmobile
— The most versatile vehicle is what Crossover snowmobile is all about. These vehicles can go from the trail to powder and back. With a longer track for deep powder, these snowmobiles can be taken off the trail to find fresh powder in the woods. Suspension enhancements give it much greater handling for aggressive drivers and manoeuvrability in any certain situation. Crossover snowmobile is ideal for trail riders who want the option to explore into the woods and beyond.
