Realme X review

Realme has launched its tenth phone in the market named as Realme X. For this anniversary edition, Realme has done a few upgrades in the device. The brand has switched to no-notch design and a big Full HD+ OLED display. The company has integrated a pop camera into the device which nulls the concept of the notch. Other than that, the device features a dual camera setup, Snapdragon 710 chipset, and one-day battery. But, is it enough to compete and stand out amongst the competitors? Let’s check it out in the Realme X review below:

Design and Display

Without any notch on the front, minimal bezels- this device by Realme is a masterpiece. The front looks beautiful and sublime. And, Realme has up their game by including an in-display fingerprint sensor. The selfie camera has turned in to a pop-up camera just like Vivo NEX. Yes, it is not as fast as OnePlus 7 Pro but it is worth having. As per Realme claims, Realme X can give you at least 200,000 actuation without any issues. On the back, there is a dual camera array in the center and rest is just plain with Realme branding at the bottom. Realme X is available in two color variants: Steam White and Punk Blue. On the right edge, there is a power button while volume rockers are on the left edge. This device lacks a microSD card which is something you will be disappointed to know. But, the good news is that Realme X carries a 3.5mm jack and a USB-C port. You can easily buy this phone online using Paytm Offers with great deals.

Coming to the display, the Realme X packs 6.53-inch Full HD+ OLED screen with a pixel resolution of 1080 x 2340. Colors come out punchy but at times not so accurate.  The brightness can go up to 450nits which is a feat in its own way. Even MacBook Pro 2017 goes to 500nits. So, seeing apps in sunlight won’t be an issue for you with this device. Playing games and watching movies with no cut-out or notch gives a stunning experience.

Performance

Under the hood, the Realme X has an octa-core Snapdragon 710 chipset. The device comes with three RAM variants:  4GB, 6GB, and 8GB of RAM, while storage comes in either 64GB or 128GB. Sadly, internal storage can’t be expanded. It is just like Realme 43 Pro in performance. Sturdy, solid and fast! All thanks to the chipset it packs underneath the hood which makes it fast. The device shows no signs of lag or hiccups even in multitasking. Coming to gaming, one can easily play games like PUBG or Asphalt 9 on the medium graphics without any stutters or lags.

Realme X runs Android 9.0 Pie out of the box coupled with Color OS 6 on top of it.

Cameras

The Realme X comes with dual camera array in the rear including a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with an f/1.7 aperture and a 5MP depth sensor. For selfies, there is a 16MP with an aperture of /2.0 as a pop-up selfie camera. In the daylight shots, images came out nice with vivid colors and dynamic range wide. The detailing and aesthetics were full and sharpness at every corner. In low lighting conditions too, the images come out with good detailing but were little underexposed. For better selfies, the camera app has options like skin smoothing and eye enlargement and face thinning. Even if all the beautification modes were turned off, the images came out very good and worth sharing on social apps.

Battery Life

The Realme X packs a 3,765mAh battery which is smaller than Realme 3 Pro’s battery. It can easily keep you up for one day and require charging at the end of the day. It can give you around 13 hours of web browsing which is pretty good. In HD video loop test, the device stayed alive for 16 hours. The Realme X comes with VOOC fast charging and a 20W charging brick in the box. It can charge the device from zero to hundred percent in just over one hour. In terms of battery life one can easily buy this phone online Croma Discount with great deals. If you are looking for jobs then e-commerce could be the best chance to try.

Full Verdict

Just like any other mid-range smartphone coming around Rs. 15,000, Realme X comes with a blend of everything. It is one of the fewest devices in this range to go for the pop-up selfie camera and no notch. And, this can be the USP of this device. Other than that, it has a powerful chipset, one-day battery life, and decent cameras. With a good bunch of specs, this device is competing with Samsung Galaxy A50, Xiaomi Redmi Note 7, Huawei P30 lite, and Vivo V15 Pro. If you care about fast charging, display, and powerful chipset, then undoubtedly this device is you’re worth investment.
