The Biryani Code
Everyone has a different way to make biryani. Some prefer homemade spices, others just pick up ready made spices. You can substitute a bunch of things when making biryani, like some prefer chicken, beef, and don’t get me started on the potato no potato war. All in all, you know the one thing you can’t substitute, yes you guessed it, rice.
Biryani revolves around the type of rice you use. You’re biryani can go from 0- to 100 real quick, just by picking the right rice. Now what do I mean by the right rice? Falak rice, obviously.

First things first, if you didn’t know rice has different types. I know, mind-blowing right. You can’t expect to get the best biryani ever, if you use rice meant for chinese. You get my point?
When making Biryani, you have to pick Basmati Rice. Biryani is a royal dish and so it is necessary you pick the rice to follow, and that is Basmati.

Basmati Rice
You’re probably unaware of all the processes that these grains of rice go through before reaching your house. Each grain goes through intense cleaning, cause no one wants any stones in their Biryani right?
After that the rice is processed, each grain has to meet the requirement of being 7.3mm long. It isn’t the King of Rice for nothing. Not only does the rice have length, it also has aroma, taste and this fluffy texture that give marshmallows a run for their money. The work doesn’t stop here, the rice is then aged so that it can improve in texture and fragrance.
Basmati Rice, is what makes your dishes, especially biryani stand out. Like think about it, would you pick a sad, short-grained biryani, or a beautiful, slender, long-grained, aromatic and fluffy biryani?
