5 Things That Every Office Women Can Do To Stay Fit

Believe it or not the world’s problems definitely have the worst impact on the world’s women folk. From the fact that women have to fight for basic human rights, right up to being a slave when it comes to working for the rights they fought so hard for. What is worse, our physical capabilities and problems are rarely addressed by people of the opposite sex. So yes, when we have our crunching period cramps we take a pill to not let that state hamper our work. Our maternity leaves are grossly short. After we are done with working for the office, we have to get back to our families and cook and clean and also be emotionally available for the family members. And we women have taken up that challenge with our sleeves rolled up and beyond. And yet when it comes to our most intimate problems, it’s only another woman we have to turn to.

After we cross 20’s the bone structure of a women starts to weaken, the density of the bones get thinner and so we have a list of physical issues that ail us. But the show must go on, and we must keep working, but how does a woman keep her body from getting any weaker, with the time that she has throughout the day?

The fitness of a person rarely gets the attention of people who should have done something about it a long time ago; after all we cannot keep treating humans like they are machines. And some of our jobs require the efficiency and the imagination power of a human and not a machine, and so the humans have to still go to the office (thank god for that, we get to keep our jobs). But fitness has to be a part of a person’s entire lifestyle so as to live healthily.

So, in Gurgaon which is an emerging silicon valley similar to Bangalore, there are corporate yoga sessions to take care of that issue. Everyone who has ever practiced yoga knows that the practice has brought about a wholesome change to their lives leading in the healthy direction. The asanas keep our bodies flexible and nimble and keep our lungs away from breathing shallow, and the meditation, helps us clear our minds and learn an efficient way of organizing the humongous amounts of information and data that we go through every day. Yoga therapy in Gurgaon has many takers. The yoga sessions usually gather crowds from corporate sectors of the society. This has lead to an awareness of corporate wellness in Gurgaon. Personally, I think this is an amazing way to show the employees who work for a company that the company cares about their employees and their health. These small measures go a long way to the healthy production of work for a certain company and its profits!

Here’s a few ways that yoga and other such exercises, keeps women in the offices sitting behind desks to be on the track of being fit even during their office hours.

  1. Keep moving:

In the sense that being pro active makes you avoid the stagnancy of sitting behind the desk. Often times, when people sit in their desks and chairs for too long, that part of our life overtakes our entire personality. We tend to choose to sit than stand, to sit than dance at a party, to sit rather than stand and bask in the sun. Sitting becomes a major comfort zone. So we sit and any other kind of natural and normal movements become a big no-no. This may seem a worn out advice but once you keep the movement going you will understand the changes in choices that you make to be a bit more active than stagnant. One should go ahead and get that coffee from the kitchen yourself, rather than having someone bring it to you, rather than sending in minor emails, walk up to the person and discuss it in speech. This also makes you the go to person of many people in the office as they see you as the active member in the company. So keep moving, take hourly breaks and refresh your minds.

  1. Organize a rewarding challenge chain:

Challenges are not so motivating without a reward at the end of it. Get together and arrange for a logical reward of the materialistic type and challenge each other to lose weight. The weight loss challenge can usually pan up to 8 weeks to 12 weeks. Once the challenge is over the weight that people lose is in itself pretty rewarding. People will have more than just office work to discuss.

  1. Take the stairs:

This point cannot be emphasized enough! Taking the stairs once does not affect the body so much as walking the stairs every day. Taking the stairs helps you extend your leg stretches, lose leg fat, strengthen your leg muscles as well as help you lose calories. So the next time someone holds the elevator for you, ask them to go ahead without you.

  1. Eat well:

Sitting inside an enclosed office space deprives you of many vitamins that you get from breathing in fresh air, or basking in the warm sun. When we are at an office space, our food habits take to outside takeaways’ or roadside spicy foods. Make sure you eat a generous amount of greens and fruits every day. Including roughage in your food structure helps with your slogging metabolism. Fruits are a great source of fiber and so include fruits in your diet. Try and skip the restaurants that you visit on a daily basis and rather spend some time at home to cook yourself a healthy meal for the foods. If time permits add in some healthy snacking options for your Tiffin.

  1. Meditate :

Now this is one of the most important points. Meditating is a way to be with you. When we are constantly surrounded by people yapping to us and sometimes, at us, we forget our own preferences and become gullible. This takes away the time that we deserve to give ourselves to organize our own thoughts. Meditating goes a long way to help us make better decisions, and watch ourselves as we speak. This helps us not to say things that we may not mean or avoiding unwanted circumstances.

If you are an office going woman, these tips will hopefully be a lot of help to you to bring your life back on track and live healthy. Keep running, keep working and prove it to the world.
