First of all, please attach some important official information to everyone. If you encounter any problems when applying for a British visa, please remember to consult the official for the first time. Starting from January 13, 2015, the “British Express Visa Service” in China will be extended to Tier 4 visas, which means that those who apply for student visas can get priority application processing for visa applications. From July 6, 2018, Chinese students applying for the British Tier 4 student visa will no longer need to submit financial proof, academic qualifications and proof of English proficiency ; students can enjoy this policy even if they are not applying in the country of nationality! It should be noted that the fact that you do not need to submit these materials does not mean that you can not meet these conditions. This means that when you apply, you don’t need to submit these materials any more, but you still need to prepare the materials documents of the deposit, academic credentials, and language proof, in order to prevent random checks by the Immigration Department!

Application

Eligibility

Before you start to apply, please check whether you have the qualifications to apply:

  1. Confirm that you are eligible to study, that is, you will receive the “Admission Confirmation” (aka CAS, which we will talk about below) to the school, university or college you are going to
  2. Ability to listen, speak, read and write English [Reference source]

  4. If you are 4-17 years old, you need to make sure you have someone to take care of and arrange your life after you come to the UK.

Suggested application time

You can apply as early as three months before the course start date. For example, my course should start on September 1. The earliest application cannot be before June 1. However, it is best to apply at least 3 weeks in advance. Generally, your visa will be processed within 3 weeks. You can also check the visa processing time of each country on the British website .

Application fee

The application fee for a short-term student visa within 6 months in China starts from RMB 888, and the cost of an ordinary Tier 4 visa is RMB 3186 (visa prices vary from year to year, please check the official website for details ). In addition, you also need to pay ” medical surcharge ” (Healthcare Surcharge), student health surcharge up to £ 300 per year (from January 8, 2019 began), we can online payment .

Application materials

The members below list the application materials required to apply for Tier 4 in detail. The British official website provides material guides , which you can refer to.

  1. A valid passport must have at least one blank page on both sides; if you have an old passport, you must provide the old passport.
  2. Printed online visa application materials list (this will remind you to download the materials list after completing the online application)
  3. Tuberculosis test certificate (more details below)
  4. Acceptance Confirmation Letter (CAS): After successful application, the school will send you an email containing all information about CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies), including CAS number and various information about Sponsors. This The e-mail should be printed out for copying.
  5. Academic technical review certificate (if you are required to submit it in CAS)
  6. The translations of the non-English materials mentioned above; the translations must be: the correct translation of the raw materials, the translation date, the full name and signature of the translator, and the contact information of the translator.   7. Old bio-information cards that are still valid (ie old BRP, if you have one)
  8. If you are under 18, you will need to submit some additional materials. Tuberculosis test certificate

British Tier 4 visa official regulations: If you live in China and apply to stay in the UK for more than 6 months, you must provide a tuberculosis test certificate (Tuberculosis Screening) issued by an authorized clinic . If you are renewing your Australia visa uk and returning to the UK within six months, you do not need to provide proof of tuberculosis. 

The following provides the whole process of examination in one of the authorized clinics in Beijing. If there is something that is not comprehensive, you are welcome to add it.

You need to bring a 2-inch photo and your original passport when you go to check. After that, fill out two forms first. It is very simple and the staff will explain in detail. It is recommended that you remember your address in the UK in advance, the form needs to be filled out. One of the forms is relatively important. It is the last one to be submitted to the visa office. Attach a picture to everyone. If you have any questions, you can solve them in advance:

At the time of the appointment, the staff will call your name to pay. The UK tuberculosis examination fee is 550 yuan. You can use cash, credit card or Alipay. Wait for a while after paying the fee, and then wait in line to enter the examination room. Girls will ask to take off their underwear in the dressing room first, so it is recommended that girls dress lighter that day. The inspection was quick, and it ended in about 2 minutes. But don’t hurry, you need to go back to the waiting room and wait for the doctor to call you. The doctor will call you to an office, tell you not to be nervous, you can make a film the same day, please be patient and wait for the results. At this point, the tuberculosis examination is over!

 Bank deposit certificate (no need to submit from July 6, 2018, but need to be prepared to prevent spot checks)

  1. About application date: If you are submitting your application online, then your application date is the date on which you pay your visa fee online.
  2. About 28 days of deposit: The bank deposit certificate, cash flow or deposit certificate must show that as of the date of online payment of the visa application fee, the required funds have been fully deposited (at least) 28 days, and the final balance date is 31 days before the visa fee payment date Within. For example, if you paid the visa application fee online on December 1, 2015, the bank deposit certificate, cash flow, or deposit certificate submitted must show that you have funds (at least) for 28 days, and the final balance date is November 1, 2015 Day to November 31.

In simple terms, this amount needs to be deposited for at least 28 days before the signing, and then go to the bank to issue a deposit certificate. It is recommended that you save your money in advance and make sufficient preparations for spot checks in accordance with the above requirements.

  1. About how much money to deposit: The amount of deposit used to apply for a Tier 4 visa is required to deposit 1 year of tuition + 9 months of living expenses. If the tuition has been fully paid, only 9 months of living expenses can be saved. According to the requirements of the British Immigration Service, the cost of living in the London area is about £ 1,265 for one month and about £ 11,385 for nine months. The cost of living in the Outer London area is about £ 1,015 for 1 month and £ 9,135 for 9 months, which you can find on the official Tier 4 instructional material (page 44).
