These days it has become a trend and a minimum requirement for any person who is looking to migrate to Canada for Permanent Resident basis on a fast track visa process to score a minimum of 8 Bands in IELTS listening.
Some of the students find it easy to crack this mystery but others find themselves in a place of disappointment. Although several students can score 7 Bands easily in rest of the modules but find 8 Bands to score difficult in the listening module. So, for student like those who find difficulty in scoring 8 bands in IELTS need some good tricks.
I will give the tips and tricks on how to score great in IELTS listening module. The same thoughts that I share with my class, I am going to share with you all in this blog. It’s not a difficult job to get 8 or even 9 in the IELTS listening module if you follow the right path.
The right way to score full marks in your listening module is as follows:
- The first thing that you must practice is concentration. If you require score a minimum of 38 or 39 score out of 40 then you have got to have a great concentration skill. You can improve your concentration by meditating everyday for only 5 minutes at the start of your day. Just close your eyes and think of doing well in your listening module of IELTS. Visualize yourself of getting 9 Bands. This everyday exercise will not only boost your confidence but will also give you courage to practice more and more tests without getting bored.
- After this, try to get as much as study material you can. You should have at least 60 -70 fresh listening tests with you to begin with. The tests should be of mixed levels. I would personally recommend Cambridge IELTS material 1 – 12, Sam Mc Carter, Peter May, etcetera for quality practice.
- Once you complete one test of listening, you should not move to the second one until and unless all your doubts are vanished from the previous test. Even if you make only a couple of mistakes, its essential to check it thoroughly and correct it instantly. This is a great habit and it will let you clear all your doubts regarding any question.
- Another mistake that students make is that they don’t self-analyze the answers after completing the test. It is indispensable to check the answers and analyze the whole test after completing it. It is also suggested that you should keep on doing the same test until you get all the answers right.
- Apart from this, you should make a habit of transferring the answers on a separate answer sheet in block letters. This will enable you to minimize any mistake that can happen due to handwriting.
So, in the end I would like to conclude that if you keep in mind the above-mentioned tips then I think that you will succeed in IELTS listening.
