Instagram stories is one of those things that you either love or hate. However, it’s true that more and more business and personal accounts utilise “stories” to promote content on their account, keep their audience up to date with what they are up to and stay active on their account. 1. Go on the Instagram app, log into you account and click on the home button.
2. Now, that you are on the home page, you can begin to add your Instagram story. Click on the camera icon in the left top corner of the app. This will take you to the option where you can take a photo in this moment in time, or go to you gallery.
3. Decide whether you would like to take a picture or video and post it, or whether you’re going to share a screenshot or memory. For live photos click on the round button in the middle, and for videos hold longer to start recording. On the other hand if you would like to use an existing photo, click on the little square in the bottom left corner. This will now take you to your gallery and you select your perfect photo to share.
4. Now that you have your photo or video the fun begins. You can commence editing! You can add a filter by swiping to the left or the right, keep swiping to find your perfect filter. You can also add the location, time, background song or an emoji by clicking on the sticker like square in the top right corner.
5. You can also choose to add some text to your photo, such as a favourite quote, little comment or event the name of the person in the picture. You can do so by clicking on “Aa” in the top right corner and the keyboard will show itself. Once you finish typing you will see different colours at the top of your phone keyboard, allowing you to change the colour of the text. You can even change the font by clicking on the top middle icon and add some highlight by clicking the top left button. In order to make text smaller or bigger zoom in/out with you fingers accordingly on the touch screen.
Once you are satisfied with the outcome of your art-piece you can now share it with the world. Click “send to” in the bottom right corner when you are ready, followed by “Share” with “Your Story”
